We had an awesome first day of S.K.!
We made new friends, played with old friends and got to learn all about our new classroom and teacher. We learned that Ms. Gray loves taking pictures!
In Language we read the book "Kindergarten, Here I Come" which helped each of us make connections to our own experiences. We talked about our feelings and how others felt similar to us. We talked about our experiences going on field trips, the zoo/African lion safari and other experiences that we have had at school. Today, Language was all about making connections to the text and feeling safe to share in our classroom.
In Gym we got a star for how well-behaved we were! Ms. Gray was very, very proud!
At recess, I saw my friends playing and introducing the new friends to their friends from other classes. I was proud of the returning students for showing the new students around and welcoming them to our school.
In Math we showed Ms. Gray how we count and how we can identify/recognize numbers!
During our Units of Inquiry we gathered prior knowledge of animals, food, and how the food that we eat gets to the table. We were able to show Ms. Gray how much we remembered from last year and how much interest we had in vegetables!
