Awesome Monday!

Happy Fall Y'all! :)

Who says Mondays are terrible? I disagree!! These kiddos were AMAZING today! They worked hard and stayed focus ALL day!

I am starting to have students lead the morning meetings! We choose the classroom roles and the "Meteorologist" leads the morning meeting. *Each student has an opportunity to be each role in the classroom*

During our Inquiry into Language Arts we learned the sound, song, and action for Ii! The song was a long one today... We practiced it multiple times but we are still learning!... After we did this, we worked in our Phonics Journals... Ms. Gray was SO impressed with our work and how nicely we were working that she even let us listen to music because we were so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

During our Math time today we practiced estimating! Our friends learned how to group the objects into two groups and then estimate how many there are. We used manipulatives to practice and then we started in our Math books. We will be practicing estimating more throughout the week. We will start a fun activity with estimating on Friday for Fun Friday!!

During UOI today we gathered our prior knowledge of plants to complete a KWL (Know-Wonder-Learned) Chart... We have lots of things we wonder about plants...  We wonder if they can play music? Move? Talk?... Lots of personification happening in SK

today!... After we completed our chart we learned about the parts of a flower! We learned that the roots are UNDER the grass (or ground.......) and we also learned that Ms. Gray can use some practice drawing on the board. We wrote a list of all of the parts of a flower in our journals today. We are focusing on writing lists in our journals: The parts of a list: title, bullet points, words and pictures!
