Lots of Learning in S.K. Today!
During math we reviewed what we worked on yesterday (groups of numbers) and added to that skill by learning the vocabulary "one more" or "one less." This was an area that we need a little more practice on. We learned a new action for "more" and a new action for "less"... We talked about how we want "MORE" ice cream and "LESS" broccoli... (At least for Ms. Gray -- The students were quick to correct me and explained they LOVE broccoli...)
**Tonight they have a worksheet to practice "One Less and One More" -- I put the practice sheet in their agenda.**
During UOI we played charades and Ms. Gray acted out the beginning stages of the process of wheat. We are going to be focusing on Wheat and the process of making bread, cereal, and pancakes over the next couple of days!
Reminders
Spelling Words are different than Words of the Week. Spelling words are for the whole month with a spelling test at the end of the month. Words of the Week are weekly words that are to be practiced in their Yellow Journal. *See Words of the Week Page on the blog for more information about what work is to be done with those words!
If you're wondering what you can do with your child to help him or her practice what we are doing in school, practice the alphabet and numbers!! Some of the areas that we can work on at home are lower case letters and the words of numbers. Just counting with them will help improve their number knowledge! Thank you! :)
