Day 2

Another great day in S.K.!

In Language we showed Ms. Gray what letters we knew and which ones we needed a little more practice with. We read a story about sharing and playing nicely with others.

In Gym we danced like cheetahs, monkeys, lions, and all types of animals.

In Math we had a lot of fun! We learned all about the calculator. We gathered our prior knowledge of what a calculator is used for. We made assumptions based on how it looked. Some of our friends even used the term "back in the day" to describe what the calculator was used for. We worked on identifying numbers and each of the students practiced using the calculator to make numbers. We used our skills to work with others to play a game with the calculator.

In UOI we read a story about cows and talked about meat specifically. We talked about how everyone in the world has different types of meat that they eat. We saw Ms. Gray's artistic ability, or lack there of. We made the connection to what animals produce which food.

Ms. Gray was so impressed with our ability to speak French! At her school in North Carolina, her students spoke Spanish. It was so exciting to hear how well the students were able to communicate in another language! I am certain that Mlle. Hou was also very impressed.

During Journal time, I got to see the student's family portraits. I heard a lot of funny descriptions when describing their pictures that they drew.

Music was extremely fun and Mr. Flower was hilarious! He made lots of funny jokes about music, introduced us to his puppet and the students enjoyed singing and laughing with him.
