It's Friday!

Our Busy Week Is Over!!!!!!!!! Now, we can get back to our normal routine! :)

Today we started our day with Show and Share! We had friends bring in some awesome items that begin with the letter O and the letter G! We spelled out the words on the board! After our show and share we read a story! After the story Ms. Gray asked us to name the characters, the beginning, the middle and the end of the story! We did a great job practicing retelling the story.

We did a fantastic job during our math test today! We did it!!! We made it through!! (I will be sending those home either Monday or Tuesday.) After our test, Ms. Gray gave us some free read/draw time before recess... Lot of students made me BEAUTIFUL pictures to hang up around my desk! (once one of them did it, they ALL wanted to)... We have some kind-hearted kiddos in our class, everyone! 

For our journal today we wrote about our favourite food! (They chose their topic of what to write today...) We did a great job sounding out the letters of our favourite food. Some of our friends wrote about their food that they did for their project, others wrote about what they ate for lunch, some wrote about Ms. Gray's favourites (Ice Cream and Tacos)! We are practicing using finger spaces and sounding out the letters of the words that we want to write. If the students finished their journal before other students, they could read a book, or choose something from the practice Math, practice UOI, or practice Letters baskets. We are definitely getting better with doing our work first, THEN playing. After we were all done with our journals and packed up for the day... (As I was helping a friend sound out a word, I had another friend doing the Y of YMCA because I do that in the morning sometimes. This inspired me to have a dance party and try to teach them some cool dance moves (YMCA).... probably not that cool to do anymore but I thought it was awesome!) We had a fun, short-lived, dance party while we waited for Mr. Flower to arrive!

We ended our day with some music lessons & silly songs with Mr. Flower!

All in all, it was a great day in SK! Looking forward to Monday's Field Trip! :)

• If you want to work with your child over the weekend on some reading, you can click the RAZ-KIDS link on my blog and practice some reading! Their log in information is in the front of their agenda! I have a few friends who have been doing an AWESOME job completing their level. I am adjusting the levels according to the information that I sent home this weekend! :) 

FIELD TRIP MONDAY! 

• We are excited about our field trip to Chudleigh’s taking place this Monday, October 15^th.  
• The bus will be departing the school at 9:15am. 
• Students are to wear their gym uniform and appropriate clothing. The trip is “rain or shine” so make sure you dress your child accordingly (rain boots and raincoats are recommended).
• Students need to bring their lunch and their water bottle!!
• I sent the email earlier this evening with a detailed letter from the Kindergarten Team! 

• Next week I will send home the rubric and the math test to be signed and returned! HAVE AN AWESOME WEEKEND!
