Farm Day!

Farm Day!!

Today was an exciting day! We got to dress up like farmers and everyone was looking at us! We felt pretty cool! We were walking around telling all of the teachers and other students about our food. :)

We started our day with morning meeting. After morning meeting we practiced our letter O again and worked on our phonics journal. We talked about some other words that began with the letter O. Some of our friends practiced some math during this time if they were all done with the phonics journal. We then headed to Gym!

After Gym, Recess, and Lunch we reviewed for Math! During our review we practiced counting by 5's, using 10 frames, making and sorting groups and we had a bonus question today! Our bonus question was "How many apples were in each basket?" It stumped some of our friends but then we talked about knowing what the question is asking... If it says how many apples are IN the basket do we count what is on the ground next to the basket? No, we just count what is IN the basket! :)

Next we had our Unit of Inquiry! We listened and learned all about the food that each of our friends studied and presented. It was fun to see all of the different things that each of our friends made or acted out. One of our friends brought in broccoli and had us all touch it and look at the inside of the vegetable. We had some very interesting follow up questions from our friends in the audience. All of our friends in class did a fantastic job presenting! Ms. Gray was very pleased with how hard all of our friends worked and how prepared they were! Way to go, SK!
